Acer Touchpad Trouble

    Hi all,
I got an Acer Travelmate 2420 today, and it had Windows XP Home installed, alongside the standard array of crap that came with it. So I took out my XP Pro CD, formatted and installed. Grand.

    Now, the touchpad doesn't work.
It's not the driver, since the docs for the driver say that Windows has to have detected a generic mouse first, which it hasn't. There aren't any mice listed in Device Manager, nor in Control Panel > Mouse > Hardware
So the only thing I can see is a button that's just meant to enable or disable the touchpad. Whenever I press it, however, the system just beeps, and there is no change as to the touchpad.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    snappieT

Oops, scratch that. Booted into a live distro, pressed the enable switch, and went back to Windows. Works now. Didn't update the enable/disable status if it was within Windows.
