Whats the best all rounder for playing video files? I'd rather not use mediaplayer as it seems a bit suss to me. its there an alternate with the same features for free out there?

Media Player Classic does a fairly good job and also VLC plays most of my media.

Another vote for Media Player Classic [MPC for short] with ffdshow [decoder] added into the mix, great all rounder for playing back the vast majority of content.

Aye. I second the VLC player, as it handles many many films, without the need for extra codecs.

    /edit
    Version 0.8.5 is out!!!

depending on the file, you will nees winamp, WMC, VLC ect ect ect ect. none is best, you just need what is suited for your needs. dont mind the ffdshow codec, its not used that much.

but if there was one id have to reccomend, it would be vlc.
