I've just heard that Slane was called off this year - is that true? He can be fairly unreliable when it comes to this kind of thing so I thought I'd make sure...

If so, why was it called off? That really sucks...

not slane material but we're on this kind of buzz here, so what about nine inch nails? that'd do big sales i'd say...

Is that supposed to be some sort of pun? what with the new album being called 10,000 days. And as for Nine Inch Nails, they wouldnt get Slane but it'd be one hell of a show. Thats one band i really want to see now.

is this not more to do with competition? from other sites and promotors

surely there is a big band coming to ireland this year the could fill slane? or a 50,000 maybe, arn't even more country estate opening up this year?

Ozzfest wasnt at slane castle it was at puncherstown, still didnt sell out cause it has absolute ****e publicity. Everyone i tell ive been to ozzfest goes where, when i say ireland there like when the **** was ozzfest in ireland?

Its a shame there wasnt a 3rd day on download with bands like tool and the deftones. Still at least deftones are playing on there own, now if i could only convince someone to go up with me....

I reckon there was just too much on, so they scrapped the 2nd day of the 3 day Download Ireland thing that TOOL would have headlined....and they also scrapped Slane, there are just TOO MANY festivals on this summer
