    yo,

Any pointers from those in the know about designing a sleeve?

How did you guys go about it?

Did you pick a specific image and work from there or what?

    thanks

Pick a theme, go to an artist.

Or get right into designing it yourself and end up with something crap cos you dont know the colour wheel or anything about composition or anything about art.
(not you yourself, I dont know who you are :D)

<edit> a small tip folks, dont design your own tattoo, they look crap.
    (massive generalisation)

I think those of a more artistic persuasion would be good at designing tattoos plus as long as you like it that's all that matters. I am not at all arty like that but my mate is drawing my back tattoo but I'll let the artist (hopefully Justin in Zulu) change it as he sees fit and I designed my chest tattoo and quite like, although its tribal so design is not really the right word more like 'Decided where the black pointy bits went'. As for your sleeve I would agree your best picking a theme or central picture and letting an artist come up with the finished tat.
