Hello all, is there any way I can get a higher res capture than 640*480 with this card capturing via s-video?

I have only tried using the Nvidia drivers and windows movie maker to capture, would this give the max res available or can software persuade the card to give a higher res video capture.

    Any help appreciated....

S-video is only really around 640x480. If you were capturing any higher resolution you wouldn't get any extra quality out of it.

    Whats the video source?

the max you card is likely to do is 720x480 anyway. Its pointless trying to capture above the res of the video source and\or the cards hardware limits.

What are you trying to capture?

Virtualdub is good for capturing raw frames. Or better still Dscaler.

Hello everybody, thanks for all the comments, I do see that 720*480 is the max res available now. I am trying to capture input from a freeview box. WIll prob just buy a digital tv tuner card instead, seems a whole lot easier. With that Id imagine I can capture 720*576?

Yeah, theres not much point wanting to capture much higher than 720x480 though, thats as high as normal ntsc tv resolution goes, you're only missing 96 pixels or so
