Unusual mixers

Over the past while, my alco-tastes have changed somewhat and I am now very partial to Rum and Vodka. I've been mixing them with coke or lemonade, but I really bloody hate drinking fizzy stuff, and would like to find an alternative mixer. Any suggestions for what goes well with rum or vodka? I'll try anything once. :)

I like vodka with cranberry juice. Seems to help with a hangover too.

Vodka (specifically Wyborowa Polish vodka about 22.90 in Tesco) and orange juice, bye bye hangovers.

It's a classic but hard to beat.

If I'm not mistaken Cranberry is a diuretic, i.e. you pee more, I think there are better options or at least options that would lead to less dehydration.

Fruit juices are all good. And if you mix and match them, you end up with cocktails. Which rock.

If you're partial to dark rum - try orange juice. I have to say it looks sihte, but goes down well.

My father-in-law introduced me to it (he's a kind-a-sea-farin' guy). It probably prevented rickets in the old days. Also gives you a nice chat up line..."Hey gorgeous - I noticed your legs are kinda bandy. Fancy a rum & OJ?"

Vodka goes quite well with Vodka. It's been a good mixer for me in the past and is still going strong today. On the occasion my tastes are a bit different a double vodka with a splash of absinth is a good change. The only other things I'd kinsider mixing with vodka are blackcurrant, lime or Ice Cream. Vodka blended ice cream would be nice for this weekend. You tend to get strange looks when ordering it at a bar, any bar should have lime and blackcurrant. Some people think it's strange but it's quite nice.

Marks and Spencer do some nice mixed fruit juices which make fairly groovy vodka cocktails. My favourite is apple, strawberry and lychee but there are loads of others.
