"Christian" video games?

Imagine: you are a foot soldier in a paramilitary group whose purpose is to remake America as a Christian theocracy, and establish its worldly vision of the dominion of Christ over all aspects of life. You are issued high-tech military weaponry, and instructed to engage the infidel on the streets of New York City. You are on a mission - both a religious mission and a military mission -- to convert or kill Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the separation of church and state - especially moderate, mainstream Christians. Your mission is "to conduct physical and spiritual warfare"; all who resist must be taken out with extreme prejudice. You have never felt so powerful, so driven by a purpose: you are 13 years old. You are playing a real-time strategy video game whose creators are linked to the empire of mega-church pastor Rick Warren, best selling author of The Purpose Driven Life.

No much can say about that is there. We are going to have to end up building a very high wall all around the US if this keeps up.

The games sure don't look Christ like to me. They won't be in my home. I feel sickened by it all. I'm speechless.

Just checked out the site. This is mind-boggling isn't it? Would we call this evil, stupid, greedy beyond greed, sickening......

Evil will do just fine. To read about a child's game like that, it makes us feel despair and fear for everything that is good.

Meet it with Trust and Love!
    Not so easy.
    Yet easy.

    Practice makes perfect. :)

What I would call it is normal behaviour for the dominionist christians. I've come across this lot a time or two before, and they don't make for enjoyable reading.

Try googling them if you want to find out more, but their basic plan is a biblical christian thoeracracy ruling the entire world, and anyone who doesn't conform to what they see as right ... well, thats just too bad for them.

I know this isn't quite the topic at hand, but it's of a similar vein; but ever come across godhatesfags.com or priestsrapeboys.com ? I quote from the front page of the latter:
'Priests rape boys' is an air-tight, three word case against the Catholic church. The Catholic Church is the largest, most well-funded and organized pedophile group in the history of man! No further proof need be given on the Judgment Day against every single person of authority in that monstrous organization of perverts.

Where these people find such bile is beyond me...

Godhatesfags is Phelps, and his Westboro Baptist Church (IIRC). He's also known for turning up at funerals of gays (and more recently US soldiers killed in Iraq) to protest and picket. His congregation is mostly his extended family, and they're all as vile as he is.

Michael Moore, in the days before Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11, did a series of half-hour semi-serious mock-docs, one of which caught up with Phelps, with Moore at the wheel of his Sodomobile:

    Please.
    Somebody.
Line up all these people and slap them three-stooges-style across the face.

The outside world is a crazy place, filled with good and evil, love and hatred and insane ideologies.

    You have a choice.
Chose a side and fight for what you believe in, or go inside and fight the inner battle of all the good and "not so good", that is within you.

These inner battles are hard and can be simple choices one has to make, as returning home to your wife to help her do the dishes, instead of going out with your buddies for some fun. Or reading a book to your child instead of watching a movie.

No wonder everyone wants to fight for a cause - it's a nice distraction and a clever way to fool ourselves that we are becoming more powerful. Real power is in the inside, not in the outside world.
