Anyone watching the first match against USA? (Saturday night, 10pm. Sky Sports I think)

I'll probably miss the rest due to some nonsense called the leaving cert, but I'm really excited for this match. Good few players getting a chance to show themselves.

Anyone know the lineup or squad?

I was very impressed with the recent 'A' match against England.

Yeah I'll be watching all the games - I'm nearly as excited about the CC as I am about the NZ/AUS Tour to be honest!

Team v USA: (Yes I know there's only 6 sub named - noone seems to know what the story is with that. I reckon Keane is the 7th sub, as scrumhalf cover, but they did update the article after realising they'd named teh 3/4's and backrow in the wrong positions, but never updated the subs bench. Much confusion!)

I'll miss tomorrows game due to some nonsense called a wedding - I hope I get the opportunity to slip out and watch it.

It's quite depressing looking at that squad. Having played with/against a few of those involved, there is now more than a small gulf in achievement...

Haha, good luck lads, looking forward to this.

Yeah its absolutely savage! I just remeber the heart ache we went through to try and catch all the Lions games...no stress now!!

Really is a feast with all the touring games CC cup and I even enjoyed watching a 3rd Italian team get into the HCup last night as Parma bet a very poor Newport GDs last night.
Good for the Italians...and the game in general.......The Welsh dont need any convincing of the joyus of rugby !

Simon Keogh & Heaslip standing out so far. Did anyone see one of the American team get pushed about 4 feet into touch, and then still make a big dramatic dive to touch the ball down? Gave me a chuckle anyway

Heaslip did have an amazing game, he was everywhere! Team looks like it is only going to get better in the championship, silly errors kept the score to (only) 4 tries!

How did you go about getting skysports?

Did you have to pay for other packages as well in order to get it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,882 ✭✭✭Diamondmaker

Getting it is a rip off I must say.

We are on a promotion of 25e / month for 6 months for standard digital and Broad band. SkySports (4 or 5 ?)cannels is 23 e a month extra.

You have to subscribe to the basic digital package ( which I have very little interest in ) before you can add on Sky Sports as far as I know.

When the promo runs out I think it will cost me 75e / month for SS and my BB.
Thats silly mone for TV in my opinion.................but I am really enjoying SS so far, have watched a ridiculous amount of rugby so far since Sat.
The Devil always comes in alluring guises I guess......:D

I thought we were poor in putting away a very limited team. I reckon the other teams will annihilate them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Quick ball was needed out to the wings were Keogh looked lively every time he got the ball, with Kearney joining in.

Looking forward to all this upcoming rugger

Anyone else think Maxwell had a poor game ?
Also, Fogarty was very lucky not to get a 2nd yellow card for his stamping.

There were a lot of basic errors, and we were getting shoved round the place by them while their flanker was sin binned.

We'll have to improve before the Maoris game or we'll on the wrong end of a big result !

    Eh, no he ain't.
Maybe he had a poor game from boot vs. the US but usually it is one of his strengths.

I know this is daft and unrealitic but I find it funny when I think of guys missing touch...

"Touch is every where in the whole universe that is not the relatively tiny confines of the pitch. It is the biggest target that ever existed in sport. How can it ever be missed?"

Perhaps one for a philosophy thread sorry....:D
