Does anybody else have problems seeing flashboxes in Bebo?

For some reason it usually says "loading..." but it rarely actually loads the thing. It doesnt work on firefox or internet explorer despite having the latest version of flash.

Go here and check to make sure you have the latest flash installed. It will tell you after installation if its successful.

Is it a Youtube link? Most of the time they don't load for whatever reason.

    Karoma, I have a 2megabit dsl connection.

Joe, yeh it is a youtube link. I didn't really test videos from other services as I was told by my friends that they could usually see the flashbox.

I guess I'll be grabbing videos off some another provider instead of youtube.

Theres a firefox plugin that allows you to download videos from Youtube, so in theory you could download the .flv video, convert it to another format and upload it using the Bebo upload facility, but its a very round-a-bout way of doing things.

Thanks, was going to do that but you have to install some stupid videoegg software. Already got the firefox plugin and ripped it from youtube. am in the middle of uploading it to a site called jumpcut.com. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Doesn't really solve the OP's problem though.

going through jumpcut seems to have solved the problem. it has worked the past 5 page refreshes. I'll have to check again tomorrow though. It usually works the first few times but then just stops working. Thanks for all your help.

    how so?

using http://www.youtube.com/player2.swf?video_id= (video id retrieved from source) works

thats why i linked that, so i wouldnt have to explain WHERE to find the id in the source ;)

http://keepvid.com allows a person to d/l a video from any hosting website as .flv . no need for plugins :)
