Ok, our Irish teacher told us it was ok to quote directly from the text as our answers. We all thought 'fair enough' and did so in the mocks. We all got half marks, and when we asked her why, she just said "I'm not sure" and proceeded to take all our papers and never give them back to us again!

So is it ok to use direct quotes as answers in the comprehension?

Usually 3 or 4 of the 5 questions can be directly quoted

you'll get half marks for quoting but it's not your own work and you don't show you fully understand the question.

in order to get full marks you must translate the quote into your own simple irish.

    that clears up your question.
