I did this in college and if my college lecture saw this post and knew it was me, a kiniption would in sue!

I don’t want the technical details of how it all works. But basically is it better or worse (or does it make much of a difference) on how you mix the front side bus speeds with your ram.

    I’m looking at a dual core processor T2400 1.83Ghz. FSB 667MHz

I am getting 2 gigs or ram!

    I have 2 options: DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz or DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz.

Is the 667MHz better cos the chip is also 667 or is there going to be a major difference in performance if I go with the 533 ram.

Its only an extra 40 quid to get the 667 over the 533, but I really just want to know for my own knowledge and if there isn’t a huge point in going for the 667MHz of ram then it saves 40 quid which equals a night out!

Tree hugging Hippy so beer is cheaper when wrapped in paper bag :D

    Better forum

667 would be better for overclocking too.

To be fair! I'm not a heavy drinker so 40 would be about right for me! I know people whi have a good night and need to spend about 80 to 100 but this isnt the place for this discussion! LOL

    Thanks KdjaC
