I thought discrimination by gender is illegal in Ireland.

In most cases it is, unless it can be proved that a particular gender is required for the job. Eg, lap dancer, actor, priest.

In this case the senerio involved obviously is related to male customer's hence male mystery shoppers are required.

    Thanks Gillo
That is correct-nothing to do with discrimination by gender.
Simply this scenario asked for males..some work I allocate and do asks for only females..It is done according to the client requirements.
As for Fee-each visit to each dealership pays a fee of €55

What about insurance companies that discrimate against youth and gender?
Or female strippers? Or male chip-n-dales...

    WTF?

    what's a mystery shopper?
The idea is that some randomer enters the shop / dealership / bank, and pretends to be a real customer. They take mental note of certain points they have to look out for.

For example in Argos, we get a point deducted for each of the following:
    - No staff member smiling
    - Missing name badge
    - No please/thank you
    - For out of stock item, not checking when it will be coming in or stock in other stores
    - If there are more than 5 people in the queue, there has to be at least 2 tills open.

    etc etc.
Hillarious fun, each store gets a rank, lower ranking stores have to go on "smiling training", while top ranking stores get bonus to each employee. My face hurts.

Next they'll be saying that everyone is sexist for wanting a female as a girlfriend rather than being bisexual and choosing anyone.

I'd be interested in doing this except I already deal with that particular dealership and I'm only 23. (I also know that their problems don't lie with the Sales operation but rather the Service Dept. Their Sales Dept are great.)

I'd be interested in any other mystery shopper gigs going.
