    Hi,

    Data Sim only from O2. Laptop purchased in US. Internal WWAN modem is called a SonyEricsson VDC eGPRS Modem and is locked to Cingular in US. I've followed the official Sony unlocking instructions which are almost same as the following(no errors so I assume it's unlocked!??):

    http://www.engadget.com/2005/10/20/how-to-unlock-your-edge-enabled-sony-vaio-vgn-t350/

    Using Cingular's Communication Manager I've added the following details to a customised profile:

    APN=internet
    Dialup number=*99#
    User/Pass=gprs/gprs

    It has network signal, detects that it's roaming, seems to detect O2, Vodafone, Meteor OK because the Operator IDs show up in Diagnostics, says it's connecting to O2 and then I get a PPP error 679 that "The system cannot detect the carrier". I added in my Vodafone SIM and created a new profile and got the same result.

    Any thoughts out there?

    Thanks,
    Ross

    BTW, I tried O2 Connection Manager and Sony's -- neither work with this card unfortunately -- if there was another connection suite out there that's more generic I'll give it a whirl!?
