Travel Agents-The Good And The Bad

    As well as doing an extensive online search for flights ive been ringing around some travel agents the last 5 days or so getting quotes for flights,and there are some good and some bad stories to tell,time for name (and shame) :D by far and away the best customer service and prices i was quoted was with Trailfinders,the guy apologised for keeping me holding explaining that these things do take time,i said no problem,he then came back to me with a good price but did warn me that there wasn't a lot of seats on my return journey left and was very courteous and professional the way travel agents should be

    World Travel in Pearse Street couldn't wait to get me off the phone,talk about helping the customer,plus the price they quoted me was a lot dearer than Trailfinders,but the worst have to be Twohigs,i phoned them and your woman said she was very busy and could she take my number and call me back,that was a few days ago and ive heard nothing,low and behold i phoned again and the same thing,can i take your number and we'll call you back :rolleyes: i just said no your alright and hung up.

    I've a few more as well but i wont go into them now,so tell us your experiences good or bad with travel agents!

    Have heard alot of horror stories about some outfit called Topflight.

    I have had some bad experiences of travel agents where they were rude to egar to rob you, etc. I had one that booked the tickets in the wrong name and then blamed me for filling out the booking for wrong, of course I had a copy. absolute chancers.

    I have have great expereinces where they have searched high and low for the best flights despite the fact they would only get a small amount for doing it. Fair play to them.

    BTW lads, I would be careful about naming actual travel agents, libel and all that stuff.

    Concorde Travel - specialise in Croatia and the Balkans. So bad it beggars belief! Quite literally bare-faced lying to your face!

    Not at all the chances of a travel agent even trying to sue someone for slating them on an Internet forum would be laughed at,those who don't provide good customer service and/or charge over the odds should be named and shamed,others like Trailfinders who IMO are heads above any of the rest of them deserve praise ;)
