Problem with Wallpaper while Dual Screening

    Sup Lads,

I have a dual screen setup over two monitors with different native resolutions.. The 1st monitor is 1920x1200 and the second is 1360x768.. I like to use wallpapers that match the native resolution of the screen but it seems that the wallpaper fron display 1 is mirrored onto screen 2..

Is there anyway of having 2 completely different wallpapers on each screen?

Yes, there is - but you'll have to create a single image file from both background images you want to use. Then you'll need to set it to 'tile' (as opposed to centre or stretch).

This works a treat when both screens are the same resolution but might require a bit of trial and error if screens are different resolution.

I also have a dual monitor setup. I'm running an nvidia card with two 19" CRTs in work. If you go into display properties>settings>advanced>click on the card name tab (GeForce 6600 in my case)
Then on the pop out menu select desktops. There're a load of settings for dual monitor configuration, including ability to select different wall paper for each monitor.

That's more than likely driver specific. What you need is UltraMon. It's the business. Adds loads of functionality to dual monitor support.

ditto on that, UltraMon adds some great dual monitor functions

Ditto Ultramon no multi monitor should be without it. For the task bars alone.

jesus_thats_gre. You seem to have found your solution so I hope you dont mind this thread hijack.

Just on the topic of Duel Screens.

How usefull do you find them? and exactly do you find them usefull for?

Very curious on the topic, I could see how they might be usefull for programming or webdesign maybe but Im not sure what else.

Does anyone use them simply for pleasure, gaming for instance, maybe have the game in 1 screen + IRC, MSN, Skype etc in the other.

I find it invaluable when I'm working. For example...

I could have a spreadsheet onen on one monitor, displaying figures. And on the other monitor I could have anopther spread sheet or word doc to type up, referenceing the spreadsheet on the other.

Or do my main work on the main monitor and have EMail, MSN and other small info utilities on the second montiror. Everything is in easy eyesight.

Saves more time than you would think if you only had one monitor.
