    Ok something thats allways been anoying me is those programs that when you install them they go in the little task bar in the bottom right hand of the screen, you know next to the time, a few of em pop up o window too when i start up my pc.

    Also ive got a good few prorammes running in the backround and i wanna know how i can find the ones that arent essential for running the pc, i wanna get rid of the ones that just slow me down.

    Anyone know how to identify theese and shut em down cause its really starting to annoy me, its like spyware but not spyware if you get me.

    Start -> Run -> msconfig --> (non-MS) services & startup items
    Untick = "Don't start automatically". It doesn't remove the programs and can be re-enabled. [Leave anti-virus stuff ticked at least..]
    Look in their descriptions to work out what they are & google. Alternatively, try 'hijack this!' or similar.
