Red Cheeks

    Hi
Ive been reading this section of boards for a while and always found it very informative and finally decided to post as I need some help. I have what one would call the Typical Irish colleen complexion including red cheeks. I was wondering if anyone has this same problem and perhaps any ideas of products be it natural or not, or diet issues that may reduce the reddness in my cheeks.

Now its not that I have anything as serious as rosacea (google it), not even near it,but just a very flushed look. It can flare up though if I drink loads(alcohol) and then other times my skin looks fresh and not red (not that often but sometimes). Ive tried all the different green complexion corrector things but they seem to make my skin burn more as its pretty sensitive and if possible I would rather find a preventive rather than a cover up. I eat fairly well as Im a vegetarian and try to drink as much water as I can. Apart from this my skin is fine.

Ive tried loadsa differnt moisturisers in the last few months also but no use. I use the Clinique dramatically different moisturising Gel and MAC foundation at the moment but im fairly sure that these arent the cause(or the cure unforth). Id like to stop relying on foundation as much as i do(not that I slap it on but...) Any help would be greatly appreciated

    hey Ruthee!
em im not too sure about what ya can to reduce red rosy cheeks, but my friend uses a MAC concealer thats green in colour to cover it up before foundation. sounds mad i know but apparently the green tones down the red! really works for her and ya dont need to wear a heavy foundation with it!

I used to have really red cheeks aswell.

Same as you, it was nothing like rosacea, but if I got embarrased, or drank booze, i'd really flush up.

I'm a fella aswell, so it's not exactly "cute" to be red faced, as it could be for some girls.

What solved it for me, was laser therapy.I went to see Dr Cal condon in the blackrock clinic, and he said that he could make a definite improvement.

I suppose i've had maybe 30 sessions over the past five years, and it's made an unbeliveable difference. There's no red there at all, and I never blush, or redden up at all, even after exercise or when embarrased, and the skin that was treated is ultra soft. You'll see results after about 4 sessions.

I couldn't recommend this enough to you.My familys Vhi plan covered it aswell, so twas all free!!

This happened to my whole family including my toddlers when we moved to Ireland. took us a while but we are all ok now. Water is the culprit. good luck!
