after a camera for pressie for the gf, she keeps robbin mine!! lookin to spend 150-200, the closer to 150 the better. something small to fit in a handbag i guess and which works well at night. any ideas. not looking for big features really

Most cameras are fairly slim and compact these days, and there is so much choice, just all depends on how much you wanna invest. Best bet would be to go to some site like pixmania.com or dpreview.com even and throw in the price you want to pay. There are too many choices to list here really, you would have to see yourself. And if you say you are not too bothered about spec then I would say go for the smallest prettiest you can find for the money you are willing to spend.

ok after a quick look around this is what i have narrowed it down to. like i said its not a big budget, she only wants a camera for nights out or whatever. so therefore i guess flash is important, as is size (has to fit in handbag)

so im looking at these

Canon Powershot A430
Olympus FE 130
Nikon Coolpix L4
Fuji Finepix A400
Kodax Easyshare c340

has anyone any comments on these. at the moment its looking like the Canon

i have but im looking for more opinions. the canon seems to be the best bet according to that. the rest dont have enough reviews or are not consistant

In that case i would go for the Canon myself as i already have the powershot A620 and it built great. have had it in the back of a backpack all over the place without any problems.

The A420 look good on paper Up to ISO 400 and an f2.8 lens
it's not short of features at all. Canon is one of those names you can trust.

i agree i have an ixus i and i5 zoom, couldn't praise them enough, some of my best shots have been with it
