Anybody know of a small pc case with support for 3x3 1/2 inch hard drives? I don't need an optical drive or for it to be particularly pretty but I would like it to be small. I want to put a via mini-itx board and 3 hard-drives in a raid 5 configuration for network storage.

I also would like it to be cheap :) I can't find anything that fits this profile at all, I think it may be a weird set of requirements!

    hey quozl

Antec Aria has room for three, one under the optical and one on either side of the wings, however given the size of the case if you use a long graphics card i.e. 9800xt or bigger you cannot use the left hand wing as the card gets in the way.

    How small is small? :)

    Would something like this do:

There's room for 2x5.25" and 2x3.5", so you could use one of the optical drive bays to house the hard drive.

Or this beauty.. Definitely not cheap, but fits 4 drives and looks stunning. Also silent-running:

both nice chassis, but expensive, on the plus side the Aria comes with a 300w psu.

thanks lads, just what I was looking for.

The aria looks the most likely, because the plan would be to house this somewhere out of the way so I don't want to pay extra for the sexy looks of the other two cases :)

You could also use metal brackets to hold two drives together, with an air gap
That bendy steel strip with holes in it for fixing stuff , though I've only used it for 2.5" drives myself.
