you heard audioslave covering ratm? i love chris cornell's work, but it just doesn't sound right. he sounds too happy to be doing that stuff... zach was just pure, unadultarated anger and (cough) rage...

Zack did some solo work, there's a good track that he did with DJ shadow. That was a while ago now, he's probably knee deep in guerilla warfare now i'd say.
RATM- definately one of the greatest bands of all time. Our generations Led Zeppelin.

RATM = brilliant, audioslave= yawn!! just shows that rage music sounded brilliant because of zachs rapping, just sounds avaerage or bland with chris cornell, who i used to like when with sound garden

I don't think it's just the singing. The music is fiery and constantly interesting in RATM. The boys play boring by the numbers stadium rock in Audioslave.

Downset are great. Not as good as RATM but definitely worth a listen if that rap crossover stuff is your cup of tea....

He also brought out a track called 'We Want It All', produced by Trent Reznor it is more singing (or shouting) then his usual style, and he appeared on a Saul Williams track, 'Act III Scene 2'.

From there he went back to his roots and played a few gigs with the Mexican group Son de Madera. He is now helping out with the South Central Farmers in Los Angeles playing some solo stuff to raise money.

The best site for Zack info is www.zdlr.net

Remember Body Count, The music was so amateur. Good for a laugh though.

I urge everybody to go out and buy this album, three or four times.

I am partial to a spot of RATM now and then. That was a band with some anger. Audioslave lost all that in my opinion. They now play slowed up mellow rock with no edge. RATM riffs came at you with meat cleavers.

    Their first album was great.

Everything they did after that was patchy. Would have loved to have seen them live.

    I always liked Biohazard.

Bosy count were fantastic. It was rough and raw and in a lot of ways made some harsh political statements. The fact that these guys were all from the Ghetto made em even better that RATM in my opinion. rage were excellent but BC cut through better for me personally. BC 3rd album Violent Demise was excellent.

every rage album is pure genius. Soundgarden were pure genius. I still like audioslave a lot and eagerly await their next album which they've billed as they're heaviest yet. hmmm:) *expects wave of cynicism from audislave detractors*:D

Rage Against The Machine were an absolutely phenominal band. When they first appeared they were just so different to what was around at the time. Admittedly a lot of the political messages went straight over my head, I was more interested the anger that Zack spits out with every line.

They are definitely one band I regret never seeing live. I have a few live RATM tracks and you can really feel the energy being generated! All together now: "F**k You I Won't Do What You Tell Me"

Ah yes, Biohazard! Excellent band. Their album "Urban Discipline" is fantastic and I would recommend it to all RATM fans.

RATM still sound as fresh now as they did 14 years ago. Brilliant brilliant band.

    Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission
    Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite
All of which are american dreams

Ha ha! At my eighteenth birthday this song came on and when it got to that part I started marching on the spot and pumping my fist in the air at every word De La Rocha said.

My friends had never seen me so worked up before and probably thought I was crazy.

Really liked RATM, Evil Empire ftw. I have it on cassette (a what?!):D .

Body count was great, i d that album when i was 13..well over 10 yers ago now. Evil dick was an absolute classic track.
Also whoever said evil empire was rages best album...not a chance. They were on a downward spiral after thier debut, they never topped it.
As much as i liked ratm back in the day, theres something very 'angry 15yr old boy' about them, so i wouldnt go around telling people i love them or anything nowadays.

RATM ftw tbh. AH ... good old internet abbrevations :D

Their songs capture pure anger perfectly. Every single song has pure .. well ... "rage" in it. Very few bands can make songs sound that fresh and raw, let along consistently across albums.

I regret not having the chance to see them. Definitely one of the defining bands of the last 15 or so years.
