    Hi,

Well guys, for those of you not going away for the weekend how about getting out and about in your car on what is supposed to be a sunny Sunday of the Bank Holiday Weekend. I'm proposing we meet at the Rathfarnham Orchard at 11.45 am on Sunday 4th June (directions below). We will be taking a nice spin up the mountains to stop off for refreshments at Johnny Fox's. From here depending on time we may trip out to Enniskerry through the backroads before joining up with the M11/M50 and returning home. For those interested there will be a classic and vintage car show in Rockbrook which is on the way home. We can pop in there if people are interested. I've never attended this show before but it may be of interest to some of you - it can be an optional stop for those with more time on their hands.

Let me know if you are coming along.

Hope to see you all there,

    Paul.

Directions: From the M50, Take the Tallaght exit, and head towards City Centre going down by the Spawell Roundabout. Go straight through the Spawell Roundabout through the pedestrian lights and turn right at the next main junction controlled by traffic lights. You should now be going across Templeogue Bridge on the Old Bridge Road. At the next junction, turn left, you are now on Butterfield Avenue. About 400 - 500 metres on the right you should see the Rathfarnham Orchard. We will be meeting in the car park at the back of the pub. If you pass the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre you have gone too far.

    Folks,

We had a nice spin up to Johny Foxes on Sunday. Because of the long weekend there was a small turn out of some beautiful cars (Alfa Montreal, Porche 911 in beautiful period Orange, Alfarocks was out in his beautiful if not somewhat smelling of petrol (!!) 2.0 GTV, a very clean Alfa Spider, our vegetable oil burning German Mercedes and of course one Fiat Dino Spider. O'Leary also tagged along and I'm sure he will bring out one of his cars some day.

The weather was fantastic so the hoods and windows were down all the way. In fact the weather was so good that Alfarocks wanted to go for an extra long spin across the mountains, only to be reigned back in after a couple of miles of leading the pack out towards Enniskerry.

Benjamin and Aoife joined us up at Johnny Foxes and shared some photos of a restoration Benjamin carried out while living in Germany - I can only say the car was in better nick than the day it came off the production line, we're talking lunch off the engine type restro.

As for the next run, well Sunday week 18th June is the date. There should be no excuses for those of you with wives and children at home, this is Fathers day according to my diary - what better way would there be to spend it other than with your four wheel baby. The meeting venue is the Spawell Car Park on the Tallaght Bypass. 11:45 is the time, leaving at 12:00. It will be a run across the mountains to Powerscourt, heading home via the M50 to give the cars a proper blast. I'll be bringing along my latest addition - just arrived this morning!!

Also a reminder that Mosney is on this Sunday 11th June. There should be 600+ cars at that meeting so I might see some of you up there.

    See you Sunday week hopefully,

    Paul.
