Super De-Lux Bikes

Does anyone remember super de lux bikes from the 80's? They had a banana seat, were slightly heavy but cool to ride when you didnt have a chopper? Other ones in that make didnt have the banana seat but i remember you had to pedal backwards to stop!

It was really a 70s bike especially with the banana seat. The 80s ones were redesigned without that seat.

THe crossbar could be removed so it could be a girls bike. THe weird thing was the cross bar was actually bent upwards so it really really hurt when you fell on it.

I still don't get why mens bikes have cross bars surely nothing there is best for all

Oh yes, I had a super-de-luxe bike without the banana seat

I loved pushing back onthe pedal to make the perfect skid although I do remember almost killing myself when I was on my mates bike (not a super-de-luxe) and trying to stop by pedalling backwards :rolleyes: I ended up crashing into a bush and going over the handlebars

[ASIDE] I also remember when my mate was the first kid on the block to get a BMX bike. His Dad put it together and he thought he was the coolest kid ever until he did a wheelie and the wheel came off the forks! He landed smack, face-down in the dirt. Ouch![/ASIDE]
