So is the actual movie any different to the directors cut or is the quality of it just improved (and some extra extras etc.)?

I believe that it's another cut. I remember a few years ago seeing an excelent documentary (Which was rumoured to be on this package) on channel 4. It showed a couple of extra scenes including one where Deckard goes and visits the first bladerunner, who gets shot at the start, in hospital. There's supposed to be a Ridley Scott commentary too. He said a couple of years ago that he recorded a commentary for the new cut. I doubt there'll be a Harrison Ford one though as he hated the film.

It's a new cut. Ridley Scott wasn't happy with the original "director's cut", claiming he was rushed into releasing it. Then, when the massive rights battle came about, he didn't get a chance to rectify it. Now he has. Dunno how different it'll be though.

Scott said that it would be released on R2 early next year.

I doubt there'll be a Harrison Ford one though as he hated the film.

From what I heard he hated the voice-over he was made record, which was why he did a bad job of it hopng the studio would drop it. Never heard anything about him not liking the film itself.
