It's not ticketmasters fault. It's the idiots who continue to snap up tickets regardless of how much they cost. There's a very easy way to stop this, it just requires people to have a bit of cop on. 50 quid is too much for a gig. Simple. Don't pay the ****ing prices now and you won't have to win auctions in the future. Write to the band you don't go to see and explain that tickemaster were charging too much. Write to the promoter. Write to the venue. When they start losing money, then they'll try to win the customers back with competitive pricing. As long as people continue to bend over, prices will go up and this auction ****e will be the way.

There are countless local original bands playing venues in your town for less than a tenner every night of the week. Think about that when it comes to value for money.

That pisses me off. What exactly do the bands have to say about Ticketmaster auctioning off tickets to their gigs and making huge amounts of money on it. Ticketmaster are there to provide a service between the promoters and the punters, and should not be out to make that much money, its ridiculous. If they started doing that here i'd join with anyone who was trying to make it possible to purchase tickets directly from the bands promoters, bypassing ticketmaster entirely.

All that being said, they are only auctioning off the best tickets(not that that makes it ok!!), most fans attending concerts dont really want the "best" seats, they want to be up front at the stage in with all the rest of the people there to see the band, not sitting up in some exclusive area like a fool!

You can look at this in both ways as above. Unfortunately for many people, ticketmater are the controlling party in the process of buying tickets. So this comes down to a monopoly. I personally agree that people should boycott a service if they feel its unfair, but we all know that this will never happen. Oh and by the way, it will start by auctioning the best seats. Then they will realise that they can squeeze a few more quid out of the guys who like to be up the front and will start auctioning the mosh pit.

The worst is the last quote there about him saying "if that's what they can charge then it's just something I can't get, like a yacht or a Learjet". If I interpret this correctly he is comparing the unattainability of tickets to a concert to a yacht. That's ridiculous, you shouldn't have to be a millionaire to see a band who you listen to thoroughly and whose whole backlog of albums you own. This is like sky pay-per-view, you've already paid, but now you have to pay more and it's legal. What the hell is the world coming to?
