FAS are advertising a load of IT jobs from a company based in Cherrywood called Pocket Kings Ltd. Looks like they're something to do with online poker but I can find feck-all about them on the 'net other than the fact they registered as a company with CRO in February of this year and they have a Ballsbridge address. Thing is, they're advertising some fairly basic IT jobs along with some more serious positions, but my issue is with the money that they're offering: it's a lot!!! Network Admin positions starting from over €60,000!!! Anyone know who these guys are? Or maybe I should be asking who they're fronting?!

    Are you shilling for Pocket-Kings?

Nope, just trying to figure out who the hell they are before my boyfriend starts firing off CV's. Sounds just a bit too good to be true. The gimp who moved my message from Computers/Technology to Work/Jobs must have thought the same as you. God, thought these forums were all about getting and imparting information?

Never heard of them but for someone just finished college im very interested even if they do sound didgy as hell. Got a link to the positions available?

In that case you could have been a bit more sensable about the way you posted your message. Like

    Info needed on tech company.

I was wondering if anybody had any dealings or could tell me anything about {Insert Name here} . Etc etc.

The way you have posted implies shill.

Plus the fact that you posted on two forums at the same time.

all those jobs require that you have worked for a online poker company before and most require up to 10years experience

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,370 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Some only require as little as 6 months experience

Saw this earlier. They are on the FAS jobs site. If you had the skills and experience and don't mind the hours (40+ whatever that means) then looks like a good number. I expect you'd earn your keep. Would be an interesting business to be involved in though.

Do yourself a favour: retain some element of civility or don't bother your ass. I'm good with either option.

I have seen this advertsied on irishjobs.ie - but the 100k job was for a director who has had alot of experience in the online poker world. Which counts me out :D

never any harm to throw a CV to people like this..

The role of the interview is for you to check them out, as much as it is for them to check you out!

I can't find their job adverts. Will someone post their Ballsbridge address? I want to see is it one of those "virtual offices" in Ballsbridge. Basically, they're (generally) for shell/scam companies.

If they are looking for a director and anything else they can get it's a fair chance they are only setting up or relocating. Someone else said it was full-tilt. If sothey are one of the biggest online poker sites. Their development, marketing and support is/was based in america and they could possibly be moving because of the american legal situation with online gambling (poker included).

From what I remember reading of them , it is a relocation thing

    Hi,

Pocket Kings is the registered name in Ireland for fulltiltpoker.com. They change the name regularly enough as they are always on the run from US regulators who don't like online poker. It's full of "dudes" both from California (the website is originally from L.A) and home grown dudes who walk around saying things like "Awsome dude" even though you know they are from Dublin!

The money is probably very real because the company is booming. They also have a five star chef who prepares lunch each day.

It's a good place to work but be mindful that the front door is a revolving one. They are constantly hiring and firing people in an attempt to keep the best and cull the rest.

Do a search of the forum, there's another thread about them, some former employees also posted.

I know someone who works there. They do pay very well. In return for that there is a release of their core software every two weeks. This means late nights and weekends ALL the time. 15 hour days and weekends are common. Also the times you are not working you can play poker. If you are 24, single, love poker and have no other hobbies or interests its ideal. If you dont meet that demographic its not going to be a job you enjoy.
