Group to Alton Towers

    Im trying to organise a trip for a group from my College Coarse in UL to Alton Towers. There will be about 10 of us. Does anybody know the best way to go about it. Would it be better just to go with one of the tour operaters or book ferry, accomodation and tickets seperate. Any tips or advice would be great.

    I've travelled to Alton Towers 3 times, but there were only two of us. We took the ferry from Rosslare and drove through Wales to Staffordshire. We stayed in a B&B in Alton village (the theme park is in the middle of nowhere).

    If there is a group you might be better off flying to Manchester or Liverpool and travelling down from there. Its about 2 hours from Liverpool.

    Where would the closest major town/city be Im guessing there would be plenty of buses etc. running from there to the park

    The nearest town is Cheadle and the nearest city is Stoke on Trent. There are buses from both those places to the park everyday.

    Does Stoke on Trent have a half decent night life and Shopping District(the girls have to be provided for aswell!!) and how far is it from the park
