digging out a body

    hey everyone
    i need a lil help with this one
    i just bought a jackson humbucker off ebay for €12 :D
    and i bought a HSH scratchplate for it all to go together
    now when i open my guitar its an SSH body(strat copy)
    is there any possible way to dig out the wood without messing it up(maple i think) and would it mess up what it sounds like at all?

    If you have any woodworking experience and a router it isnt too hard. If your not confident enough though Im not sure if you wanna risk damaging the finish on the guitar, the scratch plate should cover up any marks around the rout if you leave any. Its very possible though and it wont mess up the sound just change it, there can be a big difference between single coils and humbuckers, depends on what you like.

    You need a router template/mdf cutout of the guitar with the cavities for the router bead to sit against to do a decent job. Tape off arount the finish and you should be fine

    :mad: someone bid 25 wuid at the last minute so ill be using a fender buckerr and a standard one and a standard single
