Dumb Oblivion Question

right I've been wandering the world in oblivion for a while now and I love it great game if not the greatest I've ever played (personal opinion not backed up by anything more than my personal experience:p )

Anywho, I finally found a few really great weapons with "charges" but there running out and I can't find anywhere to recharge them!

Can anyone give me a signpost to where I can get them re-charged, it's so much more difficult to kill things when they don't burst into flames everytime you hit them :D

Any mages guild, just ask someone in there.

Enchanted weapons can be restored by any gimp in the Mages Guild. In Chorral the guy who does it actually wanders around the town.

I hate that bloody place! Especially that Eugal Bellette!

What skill is it that you need to be able to recharge them yourself as I don't like paying people for things?

soultrap can allow you to charge them yourself but you need the right stats for it (maga type character basicly)
but soul gems are often filled too and they can charge magical weapons

I've never worked out what the heck those things are for! I tried waving them at ghosts but that didn't seem to do anything at least I know now :)

come to think of it, how do you dispatch ghosties, I've tended to use the time honoured technique of "Run Away, Run away!" they are scary after all.

After a long time running around casting some low level spell on myself which I'm not sure what it was doing I can nowcast myself a skeleton, soul trap him and despatch his 'life' into a stone with one swift slash of the katana round his kneck. Now all those near useless discharged weapons are coming back to life. :)

For the ghosties you either need a silver weapon or an enchanted one to be able to do them damage. In one of my first encounters with them though I went for the run away type of 'attack'. They then followed me towards some town guards who dealt with them for me.

OK so how do you "soul trap" something? do you have to be holdiong the stone in one hand while killing the beasty with something in the other?

yup, once there chasing you that was the only way I could get rid of them either, run towards the nearest down screaming like a big girly :D

You just need to be carrying some empty stones, then summon the easy to kill beasty, cast the soul trap on him and then despatch him to the next world.

The skeletons that I've been killing so far seem to fit into the petty gems just fine, but I think once I get onto bigger beasts you need to use bigger gems to capture them.
