I am using the latest Nero Burning software and when Im burning a dvd by adding video files, I get a success message but when I go to play in PC/ DVD player, the sound is all out of sync. I havent a clue what the problem is. Im burning at 6x aswell which is really slow.

Any help appreciated. Im using a Sony DRU 800A which I bought. Thanks.

You are using nero 7 edition yes? Have you tried using dvd-shrink or the likes to burn a dvd? Unless you encoded them incorrectly nero should burn them no problem. ALso check the dvd-rw speed capabiltites. Mine usually are 4x max as any higher and this causes problems.

I had a similar problem but mine was burnign at 0.8x. Drove me demented.

Turned out it was Nero's fault. It had set the DVD drive as the Secondary thingie instead of the primary.

Someone will probably be able to tell you more on it or if you know computers you'll be able to find it.

Check that first and see if it does any good.

Well for starters there is no 6x speed so that can't be correct DVD+ has the following writing speeds depending on the media available to it 2.4x, 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x. It can write at 6x during the middle of a write when climbing to a higher speed.

Install the latest firmware for the Sony DRU 800A though you could use Lite-On's as it is nothing more than a rebadged Lite-On drive but try the "official" Sony branded firmware first.

After the firmware flash reboot the PC when back in Windows double check that UDMA is enabled on the drive (use Nero InfoTool) and then try another burn of the disc.
