Why? It's an automatic so revs are irrelevant.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Tuning an automatic 50cc is likely to make it go slower! Power is irrelevant what you need is torque, tuned 2-strokes usually have all the go at top revs with little or nothing below that. Bad enough on a manual gearbox, where at least you can stay in a lower gear, useless with an automatic. You might gain a tiny bit of top speed but it'll take longer to get there.

TBH you'd be better off saving up towards your next bike rather than blowing it on trying to tune the nads off a 50.

Changing the engine for a bigger one isn't tuning it.

Yeah a 40% increase in cc will make a big difference all right. But your insurance company will want your a$$ on a plate for the privilege (please don't even think of not telling them)

A tacho will STILL not be any benefit to you though with auto transmission. If you insist, have a look here (on the first page when Googling for "digital motorcycle tachometer") but most of them are expensive enough.

P.S. You'll need an A1 licence, not M, if you go over 50cc.

this is the typical attitude of most 16 year old with scooters. Tell me this ? , do you have tax and insurance on the scooter ?

Yep, thats a pretty lousy thing to do. You just started riding and now you want to get creative with the law.

Since its your first bike, your gonna have your first accident, more the likely. Better off to tell your insurance company, cause it aint worth it in the end. Your better off just gettin a bigger bike though tbh

Not a laughing matter at all. All motorcyclists are paying through the nose for insurance, largely due to the activities of little scumbags who tell porkies on their insurance (or don't bother with it at all), carry passengers on a provisional licence then crash (WE end up paying for the pillion's injuries), etc. etc. Anyone who does this should be fined heavily and banned for a LONG time.

Yes I can, I have a full A licence and after 8 years of biking I still have to pay €1200 in insurance, Ninja900 just explained why this is.

Then why did you say that you would swop the engine out should you have a crash if it was only for race use.

Honestly I can say i'm 100% legal. Thats why I'm on a classic (1990) bros because I am in college for another year and i can't afford standard insurance on a modern bandit / er5 etc.

As far as the rev counter, I'm guessing that would somehow tap into your spark circuitry but I could be very wrong as usual.

I think that whirring noise I'm hearing is furious back-pedalling...

Oh yeah you're going racing on your 70cc scooter? Now what class would these races be in? Do you have a race licence? I'm not aware of any scooter racing taking place (LEGALLY) in Ireland.

You do know that races are split into classes and if you fit a bigger engine and go above the cc limit for the class you'll be disqualified and probably have your race licence suspended?

Pull the other one mate it's got bells on...

    Ok Ok.

    Here you go.

Ive helped install one of these (3853) onto a Proper bike. There is no reason why you cant put them on a moped other than possibly not being able to link into the coil for the rev guage and fitting a magnet to the disc for the speedo, or perhaps mounting it.

Lots of wiring, as each function needs to be wired up but in any case, they do work.

Why not get a cheap dirt bike? It'll be easier to use than swapping an engine and probably cost the same as what you're doing. Plus you can do anything with a seperate race bike without worrying about the legalities of using it on the road. Also if you crash you don't wreck your transport.
