Centuary 21 is just a store (like Heatons really, lots of clutter). Woodbury Common is an entire complex with dozens of brand outlet stores.

    Guess which one is better.

Centuary 21 is probably worth the visit but go to Woodbury. Just don't try coming back into NY at rush hour or you'll be in the Lincoln Tunnel all night. Best to get back around 8-9PM if you can plan for it. Don't miss the last bus either as you'll be left there with nothing till the next day.

Traffic back from the turnpike through lincoln tunnel into manhattan wouldnt be as bad during rush hour as it would be heading into jersey. Most commuters will be leaving the city to head back to jersey, not the other way around.

Tell that to the people who've spent three hours coming back from Woodbury on a bus but only one hour to get there.

Obviously there are days when traffic into the lincoln tunnel will be worse than others, been caught there a few times myself but generally coming into manhattan during rush hour is nowhere near as bad - traffic wise - as leaving is.

Woodbury Common was savage when I was there. If you go early enough and dont mind the drive to much on the way home you'll have plenty of time to do shopping out there.

You'll spend the whole day out there so if your only going for a short hope then it may not be the best to spend a day there

it depends on the time your going. Round the end of season theres nothing in Woodbury. But when i went it was fantastic. the shops were brilliant i thought.

I would suggest getting the bus there and back we were on a very early bus and got the 5ish one home and it was only about an hour and a half.well worth it but it totally tires you out.

Woodbury Common is well worth a visit-go when there are sales on eg Thanksgiving or New Year, you will be amazed at the further reductions. Great value to be had

agree totally - wasnt impressed with woodbury common at all, but jersey gardens was excellent. great value, bring your passport and you get EVEN MORE discounts.

and its far cheaper on the bus too, about 30$ as oppposed to 80$ - sure thats about 10 Hilfiger tops right there!:D

Century 21 is like an enormous micheal guineys.
I'd avoid it. I never went to the other places cos i just plum don't like shopping.
But no on Century 21 tbh.

Century 21 is kind like Lidl in away , It restocks every so many days and if you land in on that day its worth it , other than that its crap....and the one in Manhattan at ground Zero is a cattle mart.........

AND some suggested going shoppin around Thanksgiving ....ARE U MENTAL

thats when black monday happens ...ppl get killed and hurt on black monday rushing for the best bargains....I know i was there last year. It was the most insane thing I have ever seen..... Women and the word 90% off is asking for trouble . And men and TV's for 90% off is even worse , Never ever ever go shopping around thanksgiving in the US . The que's in to the stores are usually about 2 blocks long minimum. the stress just isnt worth it

Fcuk New York. Save yourself some money and head for Dundalk. The Marshes Shopping Centre has everything and more under one big roof.

Dundalk are you mad it will have ripoff ireland prices. I myself got Ralph laurent Jeans from the Raplh Lauren shop in Jersey Gardens for $20 instead of paying $120 that Roches Stores and Arontts wanted for them. New York and new Jersey are far better for shopping. Jersey gardens is tax free for tourists so a big tumbs up from me and is only 20 mins from Manhatten and 10 mins from Newark Airport.

Yep, Jersey Gardens is the best place to go. 30 mins by public bus ($9 dollars return per person). Plus you don't have to worry about sales tax, so you pay the price on the ticket (or less!).

The best shop for bargains in JG is Filene's. Amazing place for shoes or menswear. Wifey got a couple of tops there. We also bought a suitcase there to get everything back to NY!
