Missing Penalties?

I've currently just started my second season of a 6 star master league with Fc Koeln (Domstadt). Was in the running for champion up until the end of the season when I fell apart. A problem I encountered was missing penalties. Without exaggerating I think I've missed at least 8 of my last 10 penalties. I used to score every one up until half way through the season and now it's impossible. Usually they're saved but a couple were blazed over the bar or wide. It doesn't matter where I put them, top corner, down the middle. Keeper always just dives straight for the ball and punches it clear. On 2 occasions I missed 2 penalties in one game. Really, when I get a penalty now I just expect it to be saved. It's not much better than a free kick, at least you can pass them. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

I miss the odd one but never as many as you have.
Who do you have taking your penalties? Maybe you could try a penalty specialist.

I actually score more from free kicks than penalties! I understand your pain!

Always use same player for Penos, Low and hard and ensure if he saves it comes back out to you.

Have missed 2 in the one game too.

Low straight down the middle works a dream for me. If they save it, you get an easy tap in.

Same for me and it's also the place they go to the least so the odd time they do save it you often still have the rebound and a pretty good chance to score .

It's also the only place that you can't miss.

Low straight down the middle every time will always go low straight down the middle every time.

That said, where's the fun in that? I blast em into the top right corner pretty much every time against a computer and a human :)

I agree with PHB, no fun in shooting in the middle.

I would only shoot low straight down in a penalty shoot out if I know that the
taker is not very accurate (gattuso with Milan for example :) )
Also against a human is not really worth it because the chances of saving it are very high and lately i wasnt too lucky with the rebounds-
if it was a single penalty i would choose someone with a good mixture of power and precision and aim high at corners.
