Im gonna eventually wanna replace my 60 gig hard drive with a bigger, faster, more ghetto hard drive.

    It looks so simple.
    But what Im wondering is:
Do I have to then install OSX on the new harddrive and bring over my files etc [I have an external maxtor thing for backup] ?
... or is there a way of backing up my whole harddrive onto the maxtor, then slapping it on the new one without having to worry about partitions or reinstalling apps/drivers etc..

    Any thoughts?

I find SuperDuper! to be more professional than Carbon Cloner. You can find it here:

    http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/

You can use it for free (registering it gives you extra features, but the unregistered version is perfect for what you want to do).
