Where's the best place to buy a Used EOS 20D

I am in the market for a good used EOS 20D has anyone any ideas ?

I would check buy and sell and ring around all the camera shops in dublin (in the resources section) to see if they have any 2nd hand ones in stock.

Other than that (and if you trust it with that much money) ebay might be your best bet. Some Online camera retailers have a 2nd hand section so you should probably check there too.

Buy & Sell have a 20D Body only for €1.200.00
although i see a body only for €1.119.00 + €15.00 UPS delivery with cam-ireland.com
Pixmania has it + a EF S 18-55mm lens for €1225.00 although there's horror stories going around about them.

i suppose you can bargin for the one on the Buy & Sell so that might be a good bit cheaper than the asking price.

don't really know anywhere else.

Ebay would be probably best, just remember to read up on it before bidding Good luck.

I got mine through Pixmania while drunk one night with a battery grip and a memory card. Turned out fine, you will get all the manuals in French though, all you have to do is download the PDF versions from Canon's website. Going for €1200 new with a EF-S 18-55mm, not a great lens though.
In fairness though I would have gone through eBay if I was sober, as any thing else I have bought since has been through Hong Kong eBay shops. I didn't get hit for tax or VAT either, but could have been luck.
What's your budget by the way?

For second-hand stuff, the Buy and Sell forum at fredmiranda.com is good. I've bought a couple of lenses there.

That camera shop on Burgh Quay on the way down to Tara St station (Dublin) were selling a used 20D body for €1000 with a one year guarantee a few weeks ago, it might still be available.

Can't remember the name of the shop, begins with a B, Beckham Cameras or something. I bought a second hand Canon EOS 300 of them a while ago and was very pleased with it.

I can't really see you getting one for 600 quid unless it's from a private sale. A seller would just about get that from a retailer on a trade in, by the time they add their bit it's up to a grand. Ac-foto.com in Germany have the 20D with 18-55 for 1139 euro and about 30 quid delivery by UPS. I buy all my stuff there, no problems.

Not on these (50mm and 75-300 both from the States), but I was stung for E30 when I bought my little Pentax new from a guy in Hong Kong. Still came out about E150 cheaper than in the shops at the time, but in the end it would have been about the same as going through pixmania/technikdirekt.
