    Two Aces hands.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    saw flop|saw showdown

    UTG ($924.25)
    MP ($1117)
    Villain ($2508.36)
    Button ($999)
    SB ($1469)
    Hero ($1008)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Aclub.gif, Aspade.gif. SB posts a blind of $5.
UTG calls $10, 1 fold, Villain raises to $40, 2 folds, Hero raises to $125, UTG folds, Villain calls $95.

    Flop: ($285) 2club.gif, 3diamond.gif, Tspade.gif(2 players)
Hero bets $200, Villain calls $200.

    Turn: ($685) 4heart.gif(2 players)
    Hero checks, Villain checks.

    River: ($685) Jspade.gif(2 players)
    Hero bets $673 (All-In)

So the main question is about the turn check. I figured villain had TT+ at this point, and would shove the turn if I checked, he disappointed me though.
    Is the check good?

    And the second...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    saw flop|saw showdown

    BB ($682.19)
    Villain ($1072)
    MP ($3923.92)
    CO ($991)
    Button ($1482)
    Hero ($985)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Aspade.gif, Adiamond.gif. Hero posts a blind of $5.
Villain raises to $44, 3 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $150, 1 fold, Villain calls $111.

    Flop: ($320) 6diamond.gif, 5club.gif, Theart.gif(2 players)
Hero bets $300, Villain calls $300.

    Turn: ($920) Kheart.gif(2 players)
    Hero bets $530 (All-In)

Once again, the question is about the turn. This time, should I check the K? surely he cant call with less than AK now, and he prolly doesnt have AK given the action .... so should I check/call the turn?

Comments on all streets on both hands appreciated.

I think in principle you should check both turns most of the time. But probably you should bet sometimes to balance your play.

In the examples above I think you can check the turn more times than not. The stacks are low enough compared to the pot for you to add some deception to your hand, but also get your stack in on the river (without overbetting the pot). Of course I'll add variance by betting the turn some of the time..

The one problem with checking the turn, is when a K or even worse an ace pops up on the river. It allows JJ/QQ to get away from their hand.

If I had similar stack (circa 1k) and I raise to 35 pre-flop and I get a caller, and a pot sized bet (80) on the flop is called.. then I would bet the turn 9 times out of ten.

ocallagh ... in hand 1 I checked the turn precisely because I felt that JJ/QQ would fold if I pushed the turn, but I thought that they might shove if I checked, or I might have a shot at getting paid on the river.

With the size of the pot in hand 1, I like your play. QQ/KK will push a lot of the time. JJ might try to get to a cheap showdown, but betting the turn or river doesn't really matter. In the long run you'll make more off QQ/KK by checking the turn. This situation on the turn (with similar hands/stack sizes/pot sizes) occurs quite a lot.. and as Roundtower mentioned, you need to mix this one up a bit.

    Results:
Ok - well these hands happened at the same table in about 10 minutes.

In hand 1 - villain called with JJ ... *sigh*
In hand 2 - villain called with KK ... *double-sigh*.

Hand 2 is a check because QQ/JJ wont call so fast anymore. He won't have AK often here.

    Hand 1 is good.

In both hands a really bad card came, both for you and for your opponent, and you pushed all in. QQ is going to be hard pressed to call the all in on the 1st hand. On the second hand the pot is so big now i think a push is ok.
