    Hey all,

Just after getting a Vision:m having previous had an ipod. As a consequence all my music is on iTunes. Just wondering the best way of transferring all the files to the Vision? also what is the best file format to use for audio files? I was gonna use WMA

    Thanks

You can download reformaters or something, i was trying to use them a while ago(opposite way though--WMA -->AAC) Didnt get much luck, i ended up having to copy to cds and import. It's time consuming, v. boring and a waste of cds, but gets the job done all the same.

Did you use iTunes to rip all of your music originally? Did you rip it to AAC or MP3?

If you ripped to AAC, I'd recommend re-ripping your cds to mp3 as transcoding the existing files will result in poorer quality sound and is really just a waste.

The best file format to rip to is a lossless one such as FLAC, but this will take up a great deal of space, so it's not really worth it when using a DAP. I'm not a fan of WMA, better off sticking to MP3 imo. I rip to V0 or APX as it was originally called. Might be slightly overkill, but anything from 192kbps should be good enough.

With ITunes you can convert AAC back to MP3, then use with your Zen.

The vision:m doesn't support FLAC and the battery life is halved when playing wma files. You're best off sticking to mp3 as much as possible.
