Fits last night €1/2 PL HE game.

    I have 330 ish
    villan 1 has €100
    Villan 2 has 375 ish.

Im in the co and look down at 44. 4 ppl limp to me and I follow the trend. Button makes it€10 to play. Everyone calls and I call also.

    Flop is 9s 7d 4s.

Agressive plyaer makesit 15 to go (range is anything from AA - 35o and he calls with middle pair and would raise with it too.)
    , fold ,fold
call by a new player at the table, 2 rounds and only cards he showed down were AKs

and I make it €100 to play,

Aggressive player calls for €75 and new guy thinks about it for 30 secs and pushes makes it €250 more.

I have no read on him and im pretty sure i have villan 1 beat.

    Call or fold!

Never fold bottom set in that game. Most of those players think an underpair draw is the nuts. I call.

Expect to see a bare flush draw and maybe 97 or an overpair.

In the online games I play - this is a set just about every single time.

In the fitz, this is probably slowplayed AA !!

I think 56 of spades an option here

Oh jesus that was you who folded that hand. A lot of the players in the 50 omaha game were ridiculing that fold. If 'needing to pay the bills' had even a hint of influence on you decision making you shouldn't be playing in that game.

That was the best I could come up with at the time!

Some of the players there dont understand the concept of folding a good but very beatable hand if you think you are behind.

I thought the guy had an overset, I was wrong but I stand by that fold cos I thought i was behind. The fact that I dont have a live poker bankroll really hurt me on that one cos I prob would have called if I had 2-3K to play around with but I dont.

Even The guy who lost the pot said "which set do you have to the pot winner before the cards were turned.

I mean c'mon one guy at the table said after he saw the hand and I said I thought he had an overset, "you had outs" On my read I didn't have outs, I had 1.

    Were you at the table?

Well yes if you think he's likely to have a set you should fold, I posted a hand here where I incorrectly folded bottom set to considerably less action in that same game. But it sounds like you folded because you were playing scared money, not because you thought the other guy had a set (or are you saying you would play even worse if you were properly bankrolled?)

    Advice for JT:
if playing with 'scared money' is a problem for you then just get drunk before you play - I find it has a marvellously disinhibiting effect on your play.

<and if you lose, you can always get easy money from one of those drug trial thingys....mmmm,easy money...although you might end up with a bit of a swelled head>

Wow Wow dont get me wrong I would have absolutely zero problem puttin that same money in if i think im ahead( my money was in half hour before with KK) or have a good shot of winning(not the nuts only but im not risking my stack on a draw heavy board when I think im behind). There were 2 players at that table that I would have prefered not to tango with and he was one of them.

I went in cos Im going travelling for a year in a little over 2 weeks and depending on the whole legislation thing, the fitz might not be there when I get back so I went in for a few hours. bit of fun!

What I meant was that I could have gambeled a bit if I had the sufficent bankroll. might still have folded but the "ah sure i might be behind but I have a good hand" button might have been flashing in my head and I might have called but I'd say I'd still have folded.

Only been in there once drunk and I think it made others think I was a maniac. Worked wonders!

enjoy the trip JT and if you're heading to Oz, just remember the casinos in Sydney & Melbourne are full of drunken maniacs on a Sunday morning (yes, I said morning)...can pay for a lot of steaks on the barbie....

and never fold a set again!!

If losing 250 in one hand is a problem for you or sways your thoughts on a hand, then you shouldn't be playing at the table.

On a board like that, I don't think i've ever folded a set and I think it's bigtime -EV to do so.

Nope, I was in the omaha game. One of the lads who went from the holdem to the omaha game was telling us about this hand.
