Hughes is probably getting about 100 - 150k. He'll make more on endorsements and sponsors.

I wonder is Royce Gracie the most expensive fighter on the market, I can't think of anyone else.

I'm sure Rickson will break the bank *if* he fights Sakuraba.

Yeah Yoshida got 2 mill for his last fight.

Oh yeah, alot of people think xyence is owned by Dana White and alot of the UFC fighters make up the balance of their poor pay checks through that. I dont know.

Most of the guys make tonnes on sponsorships don't they?
Remember Ricco Rodriguez having ads written all over his body before?

Yeh, I think that is pretty much standard practice in a lot of boxing promotions, at least the ones I've seen on Eurosport

No, henna and permanent marker ink is banned from the UFC, so people can't do that anymore. Furthermore, its pretty much a closed shop in terms of sponsorship and as most people on the UG beleive, Dana uses this as a method to increase, selected fighters purses. Chuck Liddel was given a hummer for example (yes I mean the motor not the adult film star girl friend).

    Peace

The Henna thing in Boxing only exists because your sponsorship tends to have little to do with the promoters. That said, if and event is sponsored by The Sun and you walk in with Daily Mirror inked on your back, I think you can expect to see a man with a belt sander on your way out of the dressing room!
As Pearce said UFC is a bit of a closed shop so they control a bit more due to fighters wanting 3 fight deals and not one offs. There are so many competing boxing promotions.

rumour mill suggests that Rickson will get $3 million to face Saku

something interesting is happening over in Smackgirl (Japanese female mma).
Yuka Tsuji will be facing Windy again. The winner takes ALL the prizemoney.
Interesting way to spice up a fight a little more. :D
