I stand corrected, thought the panel had to be 1280*720 to be HD ready
TheBigLebowski cheers for the heads up!

Is indeed HD Ready, as per the criteria layed out by the people that made the HD Ready logo. But some purist will tell you that the people that wrote the HD Ready logo didn't know what they were talking about and that 1280*720 is HD. Ah sh!t better not go there again.

Yeah, its HD Ready alright :D

I was in aldi, galway this mornin. there wasnt a mad queue for them at all and at 9.15 had 5 tvs left. One thing i did notice was that 3 people were there unable to take the tv home with them as they didnt have the proper transport..
    its a big tv.

I'm looking to buy a 42" Plasma but am clueless when it comes to specs, etc. Could someone point me towards the best one I'd get for €1,500 if it's not the Aldi one? Also, do all these tv's go on the wall or am I looking for a specific one?

    Cheers.

Saw 2 of them in Aldi Belgard rd yesterday. One was definitely a return.

Do Aldi not have phones? I've been looking for their number everywhere.

Also, does anyone know the length and width of the tv (not just the screen)?

Aldi won't give out their number to the public, same with Lidl, stops you checking if they have any item in stock still so you don't have to make the trip and then not impulse buy something you don't need. Who said the Germans were stupid???
