Circumcision?

Im in my 20's. Ive been medically informed I need a circumcision. Has anynoe gone through this other than as a baby? What was it like, etc?

my other half got it done a few years ago. He just went to his GP and asked him to refer him to a surgeon. He had it done within a matter of weeks. Its gonna be painful, as expected but if you need it, it will definately be worth getting it done. You should be in and out of hospital in a matter of hours but you should be prepared for a few weeks of pain. Uusally (everything going well after surgery) you'll be back to normal within a few weeks.

foreskin could be too tight, i'm sure there's plenty oif other reasons too.
friend of mine got it done when he was 19, he uh... didn't complain too much about it, but he did wince pretty noticeably whenever we made jokes about stitches tearing.

Hey Brum, I'm still trying to pluck up the courage 20 years after being told I needed circumcision! In my case, it's simply too tight to retract when fully erect (think it's called phimosis...) I'm 40 now and still need the op but it hasn't affected me other than to require plenty of, er, lube, when making love.

It's only essential if the foreskin is so tight that it prevents you cleaning your glans (head) when the little soldier is at ease... If the foreskin retracts when you're limp - then it's not absolutely necessary. Doctors recommend circumcision just in case you retract the forseskin or tear it while having sex.

in a similiar boat myself. im 34, foreskin was always tight, sex wasnt a problem if i wore a condom. but recently i decided to go to the doc as having kids in the future could be a problem (im worried about having sex w/out a condom in case my foreskin rips).
went to the doc and he perscibed a steroid cream as opposed to circumcision. have been appying it for 3 months and there is a bit of a difference, the skin comes back farther than it did, not quite able to get over the head with an erection though. (he did say it could take a while).

the question i have now though is..when the foreskin retracts the head is very sensitive, which essentially means that during foreplay my g/f has to be that bit more careful (its really senstive to touch!).

if /when my skin loosens after the treatment will this senstivity subside or is there something else i need to do? has anyone completed this treatment and if so has it worked ok for them?
