Currently have sky full package reduced to half price till August want to upgrade to sky HD under my wifes name to avail of another 3 months. As there is a waiting list till August if I signed up now will I be paying twice?

If you mean, you want another half price subscription for three months from them and you want to do this with another name, you can't.
That is, if you are using the same address.
It is only allowed once per household.
