Are there systems out there which allow thermal energy or
mechanical energy from a running stream to be converted
by a heat pump or mechanical pump into energy suitable
to heat house like geothermal ,etc.

I know the borehole geothermal takes its heat source from
wells, springs well below surface of ground but how about
a running stream in the countryside .. .any scope to convert
any of its energy into useful heating for domestic house?
