I've a appartment booked in Barcelona for 5 days August 5th-9th. 7 mid 20's lads. Does anyone have any suggestions of what we should do besides the ordinary? We'd be interested in most things. Thanks.

Try and catch a local party if possible. Every village, town, city in Spain has at least one day of the year where the locals go crazy partying (some of them have to be seen to be believed).

Gracia is an area in Barcelona city that has a fairly big festival (festa major) during August. Premia de Mar (a village about 20 mins north of Barcelona) has a festival where they reinact the invasion of the village by pirates and can get quite crazy as everyone arms themselves with water pistols for the battle. I think that this one might be in July though so you'll have todo a bit of homework into seeing what festivals are happening during the dates that you'll be around.

If you are into the footie, take in the Nou Camp - get their early to do the tour. Absolutely awesome spot.

The Olympic village (again obvious) is a nice way of burning off a hangover....
