Alt country/rock group seeks a guitarist. band currently comprises female vocalist and two lads playing bass and mostly acoustic guitar. Looking for someone to play some lead, ability to compose elaborate 5 minute solos is however not really required. just want some nice guitar lines to accompany the rhythm really.

We're all aged 24/25 but we ain't ageist so applicants of every vintage will be considered. wide variety of influences but I suppose our creations to date could be likened to ryan adams or neil young, with a female voice obviously! i'm sure theres a better description of us available but it aint came to me yet.

we meet up and practice in city centre house weekly, so if anyone is interested in having a look/chancing their arm reply here/PM me and i'll send you details.

yeah the first objective is to get gigging, also want to recruit a drummer but figured we'd be best getting ourselves sorted out before looking as they are so hard to come by. the other members of the group have written quite a few songs, we ain't been practising all that long really so we're currently only doing about 5 of them.

generally we practise on a tuesday evening, although next week it'll be on a thursday probably cos i've an exam on the wednesday. interested? what sort of stuff you into yourself?

i'm into all sorts of sit but of that style i'd like neil young, johnny cash, eagles to name a few like that kinda style..yeah i'd be interested only thing is i work nights every second week so i'd have to change around different days for practice...otherwise its all good..what kinda tempo are the songs..country or rock???

mostly rock i suppose more than country, but nothing too hectic, if we had a drummer he wouldn't break sweat often! sure if you wanna come along for a look let me know a day you'll be free in next week or two and we'll try accomodate you.

i'm a guitarist into country/rock, but i don't really play lead, well i can do real simple country leads based around the usual patterns, but mainly i'm a rhythm guitarist

but if you're interested let me know...

i'm into neil young, cash, white stripes, willie nelson, charlie daniels band, srv, pixies, REM and more.

yeah that sounds good too, pixies influence always welcome! as with jcoote, let me know an evening after next wednesday you'd be able to meet up and we'll try arrange something. as first post said not looking to recruit the best guitarist in the world, i'd say you'd be able to do a job for us!

busy thursday until tennish, but can meet after that or friday night onwards... i don't have much of a social life ;)

will this be an acoustic jam? my amp isn't very portable...my acoustic isn't very loud either, but unless i can get a lift with my mam it'll have to be acoustic.

don't worry you'll be supplied with a tele and a crappy enough amp but it does the job. we'll just play you few of our tunes and see if its your bag or not. problem with jamming in someone's house is that we cant really do it after 10ish cos of neighbours, maybe we'll do something early on the saturday?

    jcoote you still interested too?

    that sounds fine.

if you have an amp i'll bring my own guitar, just for the sake of comfort...

i'll mention again that i'm not very good, nor am i really a lead guitarist, but this sounds right up my street as it were, so i'm def. willing to give it a shot.
