New Paypal Problem

Ok, my first problem was that it wouldn't let me send money because it said the credit card number was being used by another account. (this still remains unexplained)

So I deleted all the accounts and tried to start again but, even when startign fresh, it told me that the card details I entered were from another users account.
Now this is really pissing me off as I deleted any other accounts.

Anybody ever been in this situation or know what I should do?

    Contact Paypal and ask them?

    I tried.
    They weren't very helpful.

Ask the credit card company if they have any ideas.

If you can still log into the accounts you created, just go the same section where you added your credit card and select remove credit card if there is one listed. Paypal/ebay are never any help it seems, too busy counting their gold coins.

That's the thing though, I deleted all of the accounts.
There should no longer be an account registered with that credit card number.

Paypal finally emailed me back...just to tell me to call them.
    *sigh*

I had the same problem when I had to create a new account after moving to Ireland. You have to delete the credit card from your account before you close it. If you just close the account the credit card records are not removed (remember, the account is closed not deleted).

I was lucky, my credit card expired a few weeks after I did this, so I could register the new card with my new account.

    Damn.
So is it possible for me to re-open the acouunt in order for me to delete the card from the account?

I would imagine so. Open a "new" account with the old email. That should do it.

But would that not mean the card is still registered with the old account?

Get a new card? Register with your new number.

Lucky you. Anyway, if your Father has no problem letting you use the card, why not explain the situation to him and see if he will get a new one? All you can do is ask.

Ah I don't think it'd be worth the hassle.

You could always try mailing Paypal, maybe they can help you out.
