still annoys me, $250 does not equal €250 in fact it equals €196 so why are we paying €54 or $68 more for the console, and no bs about bigger markets because there wasn't much of a difference between european and US sales of the GC.

Well no European price has been announced yet, so Nintendo could still surprise us by showing the world they do currency conversion rates... It is unlikely though, as they didn't with the DS.

I'd be happy to pay the Yen price of €220 tbh, but I'll pay €250 even though I know it's an injustice.

They haven't announced an offical price yet have they? All I've seen is that they've said it "will not exceed $250" It could be 249.99 :)

At least they've said it'll be in line with the US and Japanese price so probably around 200-220 eurons. IF it is even priced at $250.

Still, at 250 euros you could get two Wii's for the price of one top of the range Playstation 3's. Sony really would want to sort their shìt out!

Actually, you could get two Wii's for the price of one low-end Ps3... if you're comparing it to the high end ps3 you could throw in a couple of games to even things up :D

Stop complaining about the $250 to €250 conversion, it;s always been like that, be thankful they are launching the thing here this year at all, if ot was Nintendo of old you wouldn't have seen it 'til late 2007 with all the games running quite a bit slower than their NTSC counterparts, Waverace64 anyone remember?.
Anywho, build a bridge and get over it, they could also have launched the thing at €300 and we would have all bought it anyway.
And if it comes in cheaper well and good, but don't count on it.

I wouldn't mind paying €250 for it all that much, and I bet that'll be the minimum price over here.

Even if the price is $230 in the US we're bound to see a bigger number, well maybe. Just working off the DS Lite is all. But I can't make much with that because they can't give the 'premium' bull to us this time.

Price for Europe has been released over the weekend. Expect it to be around the €220 mark. Nintendo don't rip you off like Sony do.

220 is 2 nights out. I think in the long run the Wii is going to keep me in for at least 2 nights so I'll practically be making money by buying one.

I'll pick one up at launch for €220, just out of curiosity! Great price if they can keep to it...

An inescapable conclusion. I think it's high time for me to jump back onto the Nintendy bandwagon. It's pretty much the only console that won't pwn my drinking money.

I don't think I could spend 110 on a night out if I tried (Ok that's not true). Not a bad price though.

€110 is not enough! when you consider taxi's, drink, entrance to some clubs, maybe some late night fast food afterwards! Yeah, but the wii, price is good.

€110 on a night out... well if i had to get a taxi home to Balbriggan then yes, €110 on a night out would be plausible... especially with a trip to a chipper and a cocktail or three.

Great price, id say ill set aside the cash as soon as i get it and splash out come release day.

I always seem to fall asleep on the nightrider and end up in Drogheda which adds 20-25 for a taxi back to brig city. Anyway I might be taking a week off to play Zelda and Metroid when this is released :D

Well you'll be happy to know that Irish bar managers and taxi drivers are doing their very best to make it as easy as possible for us simple folk.

God bless their kind hearts :D

Damn that Nitelink/Sh*telink/Vomit Comet... gave me a cold.

I think regardless of situation, ill be taking a break from the world when the Wii comes out... so much to do and so little time to do it in.

Pfft, back in my day we used to walk home from town.

I think I'll get a wii with a colour that clashes horribly with the current decor.

Well if you can get away with spending less than €110 at the weekend, incl taxi's & food then consider yourself lucky......or maybe you're living in Mayo, in which case you're not lucky :)

Well it might depend on where exactly you’re getting these taxis to. We are just talking about drink, nightclub, takeaway, and taxi here?

With the Wii, I’ll give a wild guess and say - at least in some shops - we’ll see the conversion from the UK price back to euro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,510 ✭✭✭sprinkles

Just drink, albeit a few, food and taxi's and I could easily see myself out of pocket by over 100 notes, so the Wii makes for a very sound investment on my part. I think Eddie Hobbs would be proud

lik sang have 60 US for games and no price for Wii itself.

    http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?category=314

Would spend 100 easy in town or 60 local.

So 220 i might get 2 if there some Wifi lan built in, cant see some of those games working in 2 player on screen mode.

Sorry if this question has been done to death elsewhere already but do we have a list of games available at release?
