Outlook Problem

Not sure if this the correct place for this but here goes anyway.........

A colleague here has Win2000, and is running Outlook. As you probably know, when you type the first three letters into the "To" field of a new email, Outlook 'auto-prompts' with possible addressees and the list shortens as you type in more letters. So it kinda works like an address book.

Today, for no apparent reason, this function no longer works. He has no contacts in his address book:rolleyes: as he has been using this 'auto prompt' facility for a while and has now no access to hundreds of addresses.

Anybody know how to fix this.

I've tried all the usual restart stuff just in case but no luck yet.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This site maybe of use. The autocomplete addresses are stored in nk2 files it seems.

    http://www.ingressor.com

Its a program you pay for but has info on it.

Hey Petes, I tried the second link and did a search for the file. I found 3 files ( *.nk2). I just copied and pasted one back to the folder as listed in the link and - hey presto - all is well again:)

Thanks for your help - my colleague owes you a pint I reckon;)
