Hi guys, having a problem with an x-box. When I connect it to t.v., I can get sound but no picture. Tried another x-box cable but same result. Anyone had this happen before ? Warranty is up so can't return it.

Are you using the scart? Or just the component cables? It could be a problem with the picture(yellow) input on the TV itself if you're using the component cables to connect it.

Using the componant cables. Have tried connecting to projector and 2nd T.V., but still no picture.

try connecting thru video /vcr scart av1, then press av on your tv remote, you may need to press it 4 times to see xbox, set vcr station to av1,too ,vcr to tv thru a scart, try av1,2, on vcr remote.yellow connector from xbox, is the video output, red white is sound ,maybe you have it connected wrong.have you scart cable, try using that cable ,on tv remote, pres AV 4TIMES, COS some tvs have 4/5 rgb av component/scart inputs.vcr set to av1/ L1.

I had this problem once - it turned out that I had messed around with the video settings in the dashboard. I had switched the video setting to PAL, when my TV wasn't PAL enabled - try messing with that.

Or it could be that your xbox is just fried:)

Gamer, sapper....thanks for replies. I hooked up a mates x-box and it worked fine, so that ruled out a tv problem. Got onto MS support today and they seemed to realise what the problem was. They gave me a ref number and Dublin address to send console back, and said they will replace console and refund postage. Must be a common enough problem.

edit.. Might actually call them tomorrow to see if the inconvenience caused is worth an upgrade to a 360
