    Folks,
a friend just passed a query from friends of his who have moved to the Czech Republic.. for receiving UK terestrial from 28.2E.. they were told that they needed a 4m dish and were quoted €2500 for all included installation!.. the price is a joke.. but the dish size also seems a bit large to me!

I recall hearing that 1.2m has managed to pickup signal in North Spain. Anyone in the know able to suggest/confirm the necessary dish size for this.

In terms of kit.. I would assume a used sky box from ebay is most likely the best bet as would an FTV card for C4/5.

Looks like you'd need a minimum 2.4M for continued reception. Maybe even 3M.

We have someone from there that posts here.

for a 4m dish and install that is not too high a price. A 2.4m may lose 2D at some times of day and definately during rain or snow.

At 4m you may need an elevation drive as all satellites are SLIGHTLY inclinded and with very large dish you may lose the signal twice a day for a while depencing how big the dish is and how inclined 2D is.

Looking at the googlemaps reports, it's a little confusing because many people are not differentiating between Astra2D (where the BBC/ITV channels are) and Astra 2A/2B which have a much larger footprint over continental Europe.

The report in central Austria is the most informative one:
    "3m, H 24/7, V 22/7, 2.4m H 6-10 hrs/d, V 15 hrs/d"

So it looks like a 3M is the minimum. Also the Panasonic digiboxes tend to have the most sensitive tuners.
