What is it? Improved quality of the dvd? Would you need a compatible tv?

Is it similar to superbit titles.

Nothing will last forever. In 10 years or so HD will be phased out for something new.

Whats the deal with those. Ive never actually seen one. Is there a noticeable difference or is it a gimmick?

To be honest 1080p (60fps) isn't going to subplanted any time soon. You would have to be on 50 inch screens or larger to notice anything. I suppose 4k films might be around soon but that's still a long ways from becoming the norm.

They take all the extra features and commentarys off the disc and use the extra space saved to have a lower compression rate on the video. You do get a sharper image this way.

Yeah I do remember seeing one or two of these around, but they didn't really seem to get off the ground. Well, I haven't seen much anyway.
